
Since 2005, Gucci introduced Gucci Campaign to Benefit UNICEF, which supports programs for orphans and children affected by HIV / AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa, where over 12 million children have lost one or their parents, victims disease. Frida Giannini, the Creative Director of Gucci, draws every year a special collection at Christmas - the most fruitful period of the year for grants - to ensure maximum sales to UNICEF, the Gucci boutiques around the world paying back a percentage of sales. Gucci's contribution to UNICEF reaches 5 million dollars making it one of the largest donors to UNICEF.
